Salman Abubakar Promises Enyimba fans Yultide Present Against Elkanemi Warriors

In what promises to be feisty Christman eve NPFL show down in Maidugiri, Enyimba FC 'Mr Calm', Salman Abubakar has promised fans of the People's Elephant a Yultide Present.

On Sunday, Elkanemi Warriors will take on Enyimba FC at the Elkanemi Stadium, Maidugiri by 3pm in one of the matchday 18 encounters across the nation.

This will be the 17th time bothu teams will be meeting in an elite division since 2013 with the Nigerian giants holding the aces with 8 wins while their hoys have 4 wins in their kitty just as 4 games have ended in stalemate.

Although the Nine time league champions are ravaged by degree of injuries at the back with Agu Samuel, Fabian Nwaorie and Joel Ezra are out of the tie with injuries.

Never say die defender, Afolayan Peters will seat this one out too after accumulated cards (5), Paul Odeh is also out for family reasons.

But 'Mr Calm' and former Elkanemi Warriors midfielder, Salman Abubakar is optimistic that Enyimba can get a positive result on Sunday and give their fans a reason to celebrate Christmas.

"We are delighted to have arrived at Maidugiri safely and the mood among the players is good, we are ready for the encounter on Sunday.

"As a former player of Elkanemi, me and Henry Ndedi we have a couple of friends in this great City and we expect them to give us their support.

"We are here in Maidugiri for a positive result and God willing we will work hard and with the support of our fans to get something tomorrow (Sunday).

The Coach Lawrence Ukaegbu side will be looking to consolidate their fine performance against Kwara United at home last Sunday as they aim to finish the first round on a high.
