SEMB BOSS COMMENDS GENEROSITY OF PIONEER STUDENTS OF IKENEGBU GIRLS, OWERRI

 

The Executive Secretary Imo State Secondary Education Management Board SEMB,Mrs Tina Nneoma Azubuike,has on behalf of Imo State Government and SEMB commended the 2000 set of Girls Secondary School Ikenegbu Owerri Old students for donating 4 set of GP tanks and erecting a new tank stand in their alma-mater.

The educationist stated this while commissioning the project at the school premises.

She thanked them for giving back to the school that nurtured them,pointing out that they know the importance of water,especially to  girls school.

The SEMB boss disclosed that the school has no farm,but has garden,adding that with the provision of regular water supply in the school,they students can go into dry season farming,livestock production which is in line with the present curriculum.

She admonished the students of the school to emulate their seniors,stressing that if they were busy pressing phones,they wouldn't have been where they are today.

Lending her voice,the leader of the delegation,Dr Mrs Ijeoma Ndu-Osuorji,said that they are in their alma mater to commission the school water system,which she said was dilapidated,sorry sight and nothing to behold.

Continuing she said"being girls school they need water,they need water for their agriculture,they need water as human beings.we the alumni went home and got a new tank stand and tank for the school,it is giving back to the school that produced us,we are happy,grateful,it is in line with our silver jubilee celebration,25 years leaving the school,it is a token,we did it with love"she said.

She appreciated the Executive Secretary for her mentorship,adding that she is glad to see her and thanked her for being there for them.

In her remarks,the principal of the senior secondary section of the school,Mrs Nnaemeka Agu,thanked the Old Girls for their generosity and milk of human kindness,and seemingly thanked them for providing christmas gift to the school.

Infonews News Desk gathered that the pioneer students will be celebrating their 25 years anniversary of leaving the school on 3rd and 4th of January 2026,and will be on ground to update the public on the event.
