..Campos Academy Second Team Thrash Lightning Stars 3-0 As Anderson ‘WorldBest’ Marks Successful Tourney With Thanksgiving, Birthday Festivities_ 


St Patrick FC, otherwise known as Campos Football Academy, have emerged champions of the maiden edition of the Late Dan Anyiam Memorial U-15 Football Tournament, after producing a commanding 3-0 victory over Lightning Stars FC in a thrilling final at the Old Township Stadium, Owerri.


The keenly anticipated final, played on Saturday, September 5, attracted football enthusiasts, dignitaries, former football stars, families and supporters who turned out in large numbers to witness the historic climax of the competition.


Despite the youthful exuberance and determination of both finalists, St Patrick FC showed greater composure and attacking efficiency, finding the back of the net three times to seal a deserved victory and etch their name in the history books as the first-ever champions of the Dan Anyiam Memorial U-15 Tournament.


The triumph earned the Campos Academy second team the coveted championship trophy and the tournament's mouth watering prize, bringing the highly successful ove two week football fiesta to a memorable conclusion.


The competition, powered by renowned pharmaceutical entrepreneur Mr Anderson ‘WorldBest’ Anyiam, was organised in honour of his late uncle, Dan Anyiam, a legendary football figure who made history as Nigeria's first national team captain and also coached the famous Spartans FC of Owerri.


Beyond the trophies and prizes, the tournament provided a platform for young football talents across the participating teams to showcase their abilities, while promoting the enduring legacy of one of Nigeria's football pioneers.


As the curtain falls on the historic tournament, the donor, Anderson ‘WorldBest’ Anyiam, will today, Sunday, September 6, lead his family, friends and associates to Christ Embassy Church, Ogbaku, Mbaitoli LGA, for a special thanksgiving service.

The service, scheduled for 9:00am, is to offer gratitude to God for the successful completion of the maiden Dan Anyiam Memorial U-15 Tournament, while also marking Anderson Anyiam's birthday.


The thanksgiving is expected to provide an opportunity for the tournament donor to appreciate God for the success of the competition, the safety of all participants and the positive impact made through the football initiative.


The celebration will however not end in the church, as the football loving Anderson ‘WorldBest’ is set for another exciting encounter on Monday at St Mark Field, World Bank Area, Owerri for his birthday festivities tat will feature a novelty football match between Friends of Anderson vs Monday-Monday Fitness Club, with the kick-off scheduled for 8:00am.


The novelty encounter is expected to bring together friends, associates, football personalities and fitness enthusiasts in a relaxed atmosphere to celebrate the birthday of the man whose passion for sports and youth development birthed the Dan Anyiam Memorial Tournament.


Entertainment and other celebratory activities will follow immediately after the novelty match.

From honouring the memory of a football icon to discovering the stars of tomorrow, and now celebrating another year of Anderson ‘WorldBest’ Anyiam, the weekend promises to be a fitting finale to a tournament that has already carved its name into Owerri's football calendar.
