CAF Selects Imo Born FIFA Ref, Ndubuisi Ukah For Futsal Nations Cup Qualifiers

 FIFA-badged Nigerian referee Ndubuisi Ukah Odigomna has been selected among the match officials for the return leg of the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers between Algeria and Guinea, scheduled for Sunday, February 8, in Algiers, puyaka.net reports. 

Algeria go into the encounter with a comfortable advantage after recording a 4–0 victory in the first leg played in Guinea on Wednesday, a match also officiated by Ndubuisi.

Ukah, a Nigeria Premier Football League referee, has been a consistent presence on the continental futsal circuit in recent months. Earlier this week, he officiated Mozambique’s 4–3 win over Mauritania in a match played in Casablanca, Morocco.

The referee, who hails from Imo State, was also among four Nigerian officials named in the six-man officiating team for Cape Verde’s 4–0 victory over Senegal on January 23 at the Tarrafal Municipal Pavilion, City of Tarrafal.

His growing profile earned him a historic milestone in 2025, when he became the only Nigerian official selected for the inaugural CAF Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco.

The 2026 Futsal AFCON finals will be staged in Morocco after the conclusion of the qualification series.
