SILK UBANI MAKES CASE FOR VALUE-BASED LEADERSHIP, CALLS ON ABIANS TO SUPPORT GOV. OTTI AS GOMEP NATIONAL PRESIDENT VISITS

 

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Monday Ubani, has called for value-based leadership among elected and appointed public office holders, emphasizing the need for leaders to justify the trust reposed in them by the electorate through impactful governance and people-oriented policies.

The legal luminary made the call while receiving the National President of the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers, Comrade Otti Treasure, at his country home in Umuosoko, Awomukwu, Ikwuano.

Speaking during the visit, Ubani stressed that public office holders must remain accountable to the people by initiating programmes and policies that improve the welfare of citizens and promote sustainable development.

He cited the visible transformation taking place in Abia State under the administration of Gov.  Alex Otti as a practical demonstration of value-based leadership.

 According to him, the governor's developmental strides and legacy projects within three years in office have significantly changed the perception of the state and restored pride among Abians.

Ubani noted that the administration has erased much of the negative image previously associated with the state, adding that Abians are now proud to identify themselves wherever they find themselves across the country and beyond.

The SAN declared that there is  "no vacancy" in Abia  Government House in 2027.

He  urged Abians to overwhelmingly support the re-election bid of Governor Otti, by voting him massively for a second term to enable him consolidate on the gains already recorded.

He further argued that the governor has raised the standard of governance in the state within a short period and challenged citizens to envision the level of progress Abia could attain after eight years of sustained leadership.

In his remarks, the GOMEP National President, Comrade Otti Treasure, commended Monday Ubani SAN  for his unwavering commitment to the defence of human rights, social justice, and his immense contributions to the growth of the legal profession in Nigeria.

He assured the respected legal practitioner of GOMEP's readiness to collaborate with him in promoting a fair, just, and accountable society where leaders remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people.

The GOMEP National President was accompanied on the visit by the National Publicity Secretary, Tochukwu Eluwa, and the National Treasurer, Charity Uwakwe ( Distinguished Chacha).
