Uwana Boosts Enyimba Ahead Of Kano Pillars Test

Enyimba FC return to the road this weekend with a tricky fixture against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium, as the Nigeria Premier Football League season edges towards a defining stretch.

The People’s Elephant head into the encounter on the back of a confidence-boosting 2–0 victory over Plateau United in a Matchday 30 encounter that also witnessed a return of fans back at the Enyimba International Stadium a result that not only strengthened belief within the squad but also saw the return of right-back Usung Uwana Asuquo after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The defender made his first appearance of the campaign in that game, marking a positive step in his recovery and adding depth to the squad ahead of a demanding away game to Kano Pillars

Speaking to Enyimba Media ahead of the epic encounter tomorrow, Uwana expressed his delight at being back in action and his readiness to contribute.

“It feels really good to be back with the team and playing again,” he said. “It’s been a tough period for me, but I stayed focused and worked hard to return. Now I just want to keep improving and help the team.”

Looking ahead to the Kano Pillars clash, the full-back acknowledged the challenge but remained confident in the team’s preparation.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game. Kano Pillars are always strong at home, but we are ready for it. The spirit in the camp is high and everyone is focused on getting a good result.”

With momentum gradually building, Enyimba will be aiming to put in a disciplined and composed performance as they seek valuable points on the road and a surge up the NPFL log.

Kickoff for Sunday’s fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium is scheduled for 3pm.
