Imo @ 50: Amb Ogbonna Hails Gov Uzodimma’s Transformational Leadership, Celebrates Eastern Heartland’s Golden Journey

The Chairman, Imo State Sports Commission, Hon. Prince Sir (Amb.) Eleazer Onyewuchi Ogbonna, FINCA, has heartily congratulated the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma (Onwa Oyoko), and the good people of the State on the historic celebration of Imo State at 50.

Speaking on behalf of his family and the entire Management, Staff, and Athletes of Imo State Sports Commission, Hon. Ogbonna described the Golden Jubilee as a landmark moment of gratitude, reflection, and renewed hope, marking fifty years of resilience, progress, and purposeful statehood.

“As Imo State marks fifty years since its creation, we give thanks to God Almighty for His enduring grace and for the remarkable journey of growth, innovation, and transformation that has defined our dear Eastern Heartland State,” he said.

Amb Ogbonna noted that over the decades, Imo State has recorded measurable progress across critical sectors including infrastructure, education, healthcare, commerce, civil service reforms, and youth development, with sports emerging as a vital tool for empowerment and unity.

He particularly commended Governor Uzodimma’s visionary and reform-driven leadership, describing it as a catalyst for sustainable development and inclusive governance.

“I commend my leader and boss, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to rebuilding Imo State. His 3R/Shared Prosperity Administration anchored on Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery has repositioned the State on a solid path of shared prosperity,” Ogbonna stated.

The Sports Commission Chairman expressed delight that the Golden Jubilee coincides with a period of unprecedented infrastructural renewal, massive investments in healthcare and education, and a revitalized sports sector driven by youth-focused empowerment programmes.

“It is most gratifying that this historic milestone is being celebrated at a time when the Governor’s giant strides in infrastructure are visible across the State, while private investments continue to thrive under a stable and business-friendly environment,” he added.

Amb Ogbonna concluded by reaffirming the commitment of the Imo State Sports Commission to supporting the Governor’s vision through sports development as a vehicle for unity, youth empowerment, and global representation.

“Once again, I congratulate His Excellency and all Imolites on this Golden Jubilee. May the next fifty years usher Imo State into even greater heights of peace, prosperity, and pride.”
