WAFCON Qualifiers: Super Falcons Beat She-Cheetahs In Lomé

Nigeria’s Super Falcons Forwards, Chinwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo scored on Friday in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier.

The goals came at the first half to hand the nine-time African champions a comfortable win over the Benin Rep senior female team.

The Super Falcons began their quest well, with the PSG midfielder, Rasheedat Ajibade’s sixth-minute target hitting the goal-post before  Ijamilusi’s Folashade close-range was saved by Benin goalkeeper..

The Falcons broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when Abiodun Deborah assisted Chinwendu Ihezuo to score givibg Nigeria the lead.

The She-Cheetahs Moumouni tested Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie in the 36th minute, but the Nigerian goalkeeper was aware to cleared the ball.. 

Just before half-time, Deborah Abiodun for the second time created another passing to find Esther Okoronkwo, who made it 2-0 for the Super Falcons..

The second half saw both teams make tactical changes, but Nigeria maintained control technically, defending strongly against the She-Cheetahs of Benin’s late pressure. 

In the closing stages, Sadikou came close for the Amazons with a header, but (BHA) goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie make another fine save to keep another clean sheet..

However, the result gives the Super Falcons of Nigeria a strong hope ahead of the return leg, which will take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Tuesday..
