WCQ: FINALLY, FIFA OPENS DISCIPLINARY FILE AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA

 




Months after the report of South Africa's use of an ineligible player during their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho last year, the world football organizing body has opened investigations against the act.

According to reports monitored online by infonews.com.ng, the African nation were served on Monday September 15th, 2025 and given six days to respond.

"FIFA have officially opened disciplinary proceedings against the SAFA and Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena.


"In a letter to SAFA dated 15 Sept, the case has been referred to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, with SAFA and Mokoena given six days to submit their response.
