Enyimba Boss, Kanu Inspires Pepsi Academy Kids With Lessons Beyond Football

It was a day to remember in Aba as the Chairman of Enyimba International FC, Ambassador Nwankwo Kanu, took time out of his busy schedule to connect with the future of Nigerian football—the young boys and girls of Pepsi Football Academy.

The legendary captain of Nigeria’s Atlanta ’96 Dream Team and Olympic gold medalist did not simply come to wave at the kids; he came bearing wisdom, inspiration, and the kind of fatherly advice that transcends football.

With their eyes lit up at the sight of the former Super Eagles skipper, who graced Europe’s biggest stages with Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion, and Portsmouth, the children listened attentively as Kanu shared the secrets of success—both on and off the pitch.

“Football will take you places, but only if you are disciplined, respectful, and dedicated,” Kanu told the visibly thrilled youngsters. He urged them to first be useful at home by helping their parents and guardians with domestic chores, stressing that humility and responsibility start from the family.

The Arsenal Invincibles icon also charged the budding stars to take their academics seriously. “Your education will open doors even when football closes some. Obey your coaches, listen to your teachers, and never stop learning,” he added.
