Enyimba FC wrapped up their 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign on a high with a commanding 3-0 victory over Elkanemi Warriors at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba on Sunday with Stanley Dimgba running the show.

Backed by a passionate home crowd despite heavy showers at the Elephant Park, the nine time Nigerian champions produced one of their most spirited displays of the season to secure their topflight status in emphatic fashion.

With everything on the line in the decisive Matchday 38 encounter, the People’s Elephant showed determination, composure and attacking intent from the opening whistle as they dominated proceedings against the Desert Warriors.

Veteran forward, Stanley Dimgba rolled back the years with a sensational first half brace to ignite celebrations across the stadium. The ageless attacker broke the deadlock in the 27th minute with a composed finish profiting from Chidera Michael's solo run into the box, before doubling Enyimba’s advantage ten minutes later after another brilliant attacking move that saw Wonah Williams flicking an assist.

The Aba giants remained firmly in control throughout the contest, thrilling the fans with fluid football and relentless pressing despite the difficult weather conditions.

As the game approached its conclusion, dependable full back, Uwana Asuquo put the icing on the cake in the 87th minute with a fine finish off Ufere Chinedu's sublime free kick to seal all three points and complete a memorable afternoon for the hosts.

The emphatic victory ensured Enyimba finished the season in 11th position on the NPFL table with 49 points, successfully preserving their status in the Nigerian topflight.

Speaking during the post match press conference, Enyimba FC Head Coach, Emmanuel Deutsch Gustavo expressed delight over the achievement, insisting he fulfilled his mission of keeping the club in the NPFL.

“Yeah, it’s a great result because it was a very important match not just for the club but for all Abians,” the Cameroon tactician stated.

“I think I have proved a point when I said earlier on arrival that Enyimba can’t be relegated and today you all can see it. I have to take the credit.”

On Enyimba’s ambitions in the ongoing President Federation Cup, Coach Deutsch remained cautiously optimistic.

“For the Federation Cup, it’s one goal in, one goal out and it’s a game for all. The main aim was to remain in the league, but we will see how far we can go in the cup games.”

Attention now shifts to the President Federation Cup Round of 32 clash where the People’s Elephant will face Gombe United in Makurdi on Monday, June 1st, 2026.
