ELEPHANTS ROAR IN STYLE, AS ENYIMBA CRUSH AHUDIYANNEM TO LIFT 2026 ABIA FED CUP

Enyimba FC produced a commanding and ruthless display to overpower Ahudiyannam FC 4-0 in the Final of the 2026 Abia State President Federation Cup, decided at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba on Sunday, April 26th, 2026.

It was a sweet and emphatic revenge mission for the People’s Elephant, who came into the contest still haunted by last year’s painful final defeat to the same opposition via penalties. This time, there was no room for doubt, no drama, and no mercy, just pure dominance from the NPFL giants.

From the blast of the whistle, Enyimba imposed their authority with purpose, urgency, and intensity, pinning the NLO side deep in their territory.

The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when inform winger Wonah Williams continued his impressive run, calmly firing home to ignite celebrations among the Aba faithful.

The first half ended with Enyimba firmly in control, but Ahudiyannam were handed a lifeline early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty in the 50th minute. However, Enyimba’s dependable shot stopper, Miracle Ukadike stayed composed, producing a brilliant save off a rebound that completely drained the visitors of belief.

And just seven minutes later, Ahudiyannam was punished. Williams struck again in the 57th minute, doubling his tally after a swift and intelligent pass from Ezekiel Edidiong, as the People’s Elephant tightened their grip on the trophy.

Technical Adviser, Coach Emmanuel Deutsch Gustavo then introduced Enyimba Academy graduate Samuel Okechukwu alongside Salman Abubakar, and the tactical substitutions immediately increased the tempo and pressure.

The move paid off handsomely in the 83rd minute when Samuel Okechukwu confidently converted from the penalty spot after being fouled inside the box, sealing a memorable moment for the youngster in a cup final.

Joel Ezra added the icing on the cake with a brilliant solo effort in the 88th minute, sliding home Enyimba’s fourth goal to complete a comprehensive demolition and crown a flawless performance.

Speaking after the game, goal scorer and Enyimba Academy graduate Samuel Okechukwu expressed joy at contributing to the triumph, while praising his teammates and the club’s leadership for their belief in the young talents.

“I am very delighted. I thank my teammates for making it easy for me since after my promotion alongside Nelson Sule and Goodluck. I also thank Coach Deutsch and the entire technical crew for their fatherly role, and the management for believing and trusting us.”

Samuel however, remained grounded despite his big moment on a grand stage;

“I will stay humble and continue to develop my game. The season is not yet over. Our focus now is the league.”

With the Abia State Federation Cup trophy secured in style, Enyimba now turn attention back to the NPFL as they prepare for their next league fixture against Remo Stars FC on Sunday at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
