Abia Sports Boss, Hon Nwaobilor Charges Enyimba For Maximum Points Against Wikki
All eyes will be on the Lafia City Stadium this Saturday as Enyimba FC lock horns with Wikki Tourist in what promises to be a thrilling NPFL Matchday 33 encounter.
The People’s Elephant, determined to sustain their bounce back after the Abia Derby win, will take on the Giant Elephants of Bauchi in a crucial fixture that could shape the outcome of their seasons.
In a massive show of commitment and support, the Abia State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hon. Nwaobilor Ananaba, arrived in Lafia on Good Friday evening with the club's Sporting Director, Mr Daniel Eke to rally the Enyimba squad ahead of the battle.
The Commissioner, who personally witnessed the team’s training session at the Lafia City Stadium, delivered a passionate charge to the players, stressing the importance of securing maximum points against Wikki Tourist.
Speaking with fire and conviction, Hon. Nwaobilor made quite clear the importance of the match, while also assuring the players of their welfare and outstanding bonuses.
“I can’t emphasize the importance of this match to us and that’s why i shelved my personal schedules to be here to support you,” he told the players.
“I need you to be more serious in the game tomorrow (Saturday) to get the desired maximum points.”
The Abia Sports Boss further reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the players, insisting that a motivated squad would always deliver on the pitch.
“As you can see, i am getting involved in Enyimba games recently and your welfare is more important to me, because if you’re happy you play well.”
Hon. Nwaobilor further promised the team a handsome personal reward if they defeat Wikki Tourist.
“This game is crucial, so for me, if you win the game on Saturday, I will personally give the team one million Naira.”
Enyimba will be hoping to exact revenge on the Bauchi based side, following the defeat suffered in Aba during the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
The clash meanwhile, comes with a rich history, as both sides have faced each other 26 times, with Enyimba claiming 12 victories, Wikki Tourist winning 7, while 7 encounters ended in a draw.
Saturday’s fixture, scheduled for 4:00pm, is expected to be a high-intensity contest as both teams chase vital points in the closing stages of the campaign.
With pride, revenge, and a ₦1million bounty on the line, Enyimba will head into battle in Lafia fully charged to roar back to winning ways.
