Prada Uzodimma Expands Scholarship Initiative, Announces Winners of PUIISG 2.0

Six outstanding students have emerged as winners of the Prada Uzodimma Indigenous Students Grant (PUIISG) 2.0, a scholarship initiative sponsored by Prada Uzodimma, a distinguished legal practitioner and advocate for youth empowerment and educational advancement.

Ugochukwu, Emmanuel Chibuike, Obinali Munachi, Favour

Ibegbunam, Ekene Williams.

The PUIISG initiative reflects Barr. Uzodimma’s enduring commitment to supporting education and empowering young people, particularly students of Imo State origin who demonstrate academic promise and leadership potential.

Speaking on the scholarship initiative, Barr. Uzodimma emphasized the importance of education as a critical tool for personal development and societal progress. She noted that investing in the education of young people remains one of the most meaningful ways to shape a better future for communities and the nation at large.

The first edition of the Prada Uzodimma Indigenous Students Grant was specifically designed to support Imo State indigenes studying Law at Imo State University. 

However, following the success and impact of the inaugural edition, the scholarship program has now been expanded in its second edition to accommodate Imo State indigenes studying any course in any Federal or State higher institution across Nigeria.

The credibility and impact of PUIISG have been further strengthened by its endorsement from key stakeholders in the education and youth development sectors, including the Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education, Hon. B. T. O. Ikegwuoha, the Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Hon. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu and the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Uchefula Ugonna Chukwumaeze.

This expansion reflects Barr. Uzodimma’s vision of extending opportunities to a broader pool of deserving students who require financial support to pursue their academic ambitions.

The selection process for PUIISG 2.0 involved a rigorous evaluation of applicants’ credentials and a screening exercise designed to assess academic potential, personal drive and commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.

The organizers congratulated the winners for their exceptional performance throughout the application process and encouraged them to remain focused on academic excellence and leadership.
