In the heart of Aba, where the passion for grassroots football beats loudest, Enyimba U-17 have sparked their revival at the 2nd edition of the 'Nwankwo Kanu U-19 Football Tournament'—and it’s all thanks to the fire of their gaffer and the boots of a teenage assassin.

After a sobering 1-0 defeat to reigning champions Apex Krane in their tournament opener, many had written off the young Elephants. After the loss to the defending champions, we went back to the drawing board and assessed our errors with a view of correcting them — and that’s what played out in this second game.”

> “We also thank the fans for being behind us even when our opponents equalized in the first half. I commend my players for keeping their heads up,” added the coach, who once wore the famous blue of Enyimba in his playing days.

But the day belonged to Ebuka Ucheagwu—a name that is quickly lighting up the tournament. Two clinical finishes and a tireless shift earned him man-of-the-match honors and put him firmly in the spotlight.
