
Imo Striker Queens Switches Base To Anambra, Targets NWFL Premiership Promotion
In a swift turn of events and poised by the prospects of delivering a female NWFL Premier league to the Anambra people, Imo Striker Queens has officially switched tents to Awka, Anambra State.
Infonews.com.ng can authoritatively reveal that the Owerri based female football club based side has concluded plans to officially operate as an Anambra State affiliate with immediate effect.
Confirming this development to infonews.com.ng, the CEO/President of the club, Prince Chidi said all is set for their switch of base as they will be prosecuting their NWFL Championship league from Awka and will aim to gain promotion in other to attract a female premiership side to Anambrarians.
Although he could not reveal reasons behind their decision, but infonews.com.ng learnt it was a decision that the team had to make for their next progress and development.
According to Prince Chidi, all necessary arrangements has been concluded with the state FA adding that the Anambra State Football leadership under Mr Chikelue Iloanyosi "General" is more than delight with the development and has pledged to give them all the necessary support for their goal and target especially as they prepare for this season's NWFL Championship later this year.
Recall that sometimes this year, news also broke out that First Mahi Babes FC of Abajah, Imo state has also switched their base to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, were they emerged champions of the 2025 Ebonyi State FA Cup competition and representing the state up till the round of 16 before they were edged out by Rivers Angels.
