Imo PDP, Owerri Zone Chapter Passes Vote Of Confidence On Nat'l Scribe, SamDaddy

_..Vows To Reclaim Power In 2027, Laments Poor Governance In Owerri Zone

 

The Imo People's Democratic Party PDP, Owerri Zone Chapter has in a communique passed a vote of confidence in the National Secretary of the Party, Distinguished Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu 'SamDaddy'.

The chapter also in the communique which was made public and to infonews.com.ng frowned at some persons involved in anti party activities vowing to reclaim Douglas House, Imo Government House come 2027 as they lamented poor governance in the zone (Owerri Zone) under the current government of APC.

Parts of the communique which was signed by the Geoffrey Ihentuge (zonal Chairman) and Arthur Ugochukwu (zonal secretary) and heavily attended on Sunday June 1st, 2025 read;

A high-level meeting of the Owerri Zonal Leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) was convened on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the zonal office in Owerri. The meeting, called at the instance of Hon. Geoffrey Ihentuge, the esteemed Zonal Chairman, brought together key stakeholders, including but not limited to the South East Zonal Organizing Secretary, Zonal Secretary, 

Minority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Zonal Women Leader, State Women Leader, State Organizing Secretary, all nine elected Chairmen from  Owerri zone Local Government Areas, and other leaders of note from the zone.

The meeting provided a platform for in-depth deliberations on recent developments within the PDP at the national, south-east, Imo State, and Owerri zone levels. The leadership of the party expressed deep concern over the actions of certain elements within the party who seem determined to undermine the party's peace and progress.

On the issue of the National Secretary of the PDP, the zonal leadership extended warm congratulations to Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Sam Daddy) on his reaffirmation by the Supreme Court as the authentic National Secretary of the party. This affirmation is a testament to his exemplary leadership and dedication to the party's ideals.

The meeting resolved as follows:

1. *Vote of Confidence:* The Owerri zone PDP leadership passes a unanimous vote of confidence in Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu's leadership and pledges unwavering support to his vision for the party.

2. *Reclaiming Power come 2027:* The party reaffirms its determination to reclaim Douglas House in 2027 and calls on our dear brothers and sisters from other zones to rally behind Owerri zone's bid to produce the next Governor of Imo State, while respecting the Charter of Equity that has guided the party's zoning arrangements.

3. *Internal Democracy:* The party assures all members, both old and new, that the tickets for contesting elective positions in the next general election remain open to everyone, and the party is committed to fostering internal democracy.

4. *Governance Concerns:* The leadership expresses deep concern over the despicable state of governance in Owerri zone, particularly with regards to security which remains the primary responsibility of every decent government, and urges the people to remain steadfast as the Egyptians they see today, they shall see no more in 2027.
