NSF Gateway Games: Imo Sports Boss, Amb. Ogbonna, Rallies Athletes to Strike Gold — _“We’re Primed to Surpass History!”_

As the Nigerian Sports Festival (NSF) gains momentum, the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Sports Commission, Prince Sir (Amb.) Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna, has sent a rousing message to the state’s contingent — “Go for gold, and make history!”

In a bold and passionate rallying call, the sports chief, speaking through his media aide, declared his unshakable belief in the ability of Imo athletes to not only match but surpass their previous medal haul.

“I’m confident we’ll surpass our previous medal count. Our athletes are primed to deliver exceptional performances and make a lasting impact owing to their Trojan spirit,” Amb. Ogbonna said, his voice echoing the fighting spirit that defines Team Imo.

With an eye on the podium, Ogbonna emphasized discipline and focus as the bedrock of victory, urging coaches and athletes to maintain composure under pressure and to honour schedules with military precision. “Punctuality and calm heads in the heat of competition can be the difference between silver and gold,” he advised.

The Imo Sports boss was also effusive in his praise for Governor Hope Uzodimma, whose administration has provided unwavering financial and moral support to the state’s athletes. “The Governor’s backing has been a game-changer. His support has infused the entire team with confidence and purpose. It’s a significant morale boost for Team Imo,” Ogbonna noted.

With the countdown to glory ticking, Amb. Ogbonna’s message is clear: Imo is not just here to participate — they are here to be reckoned with and possibly dominate.

His believe was put straight to taste as the state male football team won their first game against Team Yobe 3-1 to set the ball rolling.
